Alright, back to reality. I am coming down from my NYFW buzz, and I realize all the yummy clothes I saw are not available yet, so I still need to get my Spring wardrobe buff.

Depressed, walking through JFK on my way home, I was hit with a lighting bolt, Kate Moss’ “W” magazine cover for  March, 2012.

Kate Moss, like chameleon Linda Evangelista, is everlasting in modeldom. Almost 20 years in the business and Kate is still smacking us in the face with each image she presents to the world.

The photos inside are memorizing, I couldn’t put it down. These days I pretty much flip through a magazine in seconds, not this time, attention gained.

Check out this issue if you have time, as “W” has done an amazing job styling Spring for us this year. I want everything, well at least in a visual tapestry.

NYFW: New York Boys!!!!

“Let’s Here It For The Boys”

Why was I reading the sports page of my newspaper everyday during fashion week, well let’s see, could it be the amazing Jeremy Lin? Yes! During Fashion week one man trumped all fashion show coverage, Jeremy Lin. He was on every television screen, newspaper, and media outlet. The tall, handsome, famous New York Knicks player, and Harvard grad is on everyone’s mind now. The details of his story are vague to me, as I know nothing about sports, but his image was seared into my mind in a New York minute.

Therefore, as the great saying goes, “if your can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em.” The main focus of Fashion Week is women’s wear. The men’s collections show earlier, and are fairly quiet.  My first New York street fashion post was all about the lovely women. However, men are also not afraid to turn things out, I have complained a collection of amazing men’s street fashion—I am an equal opportunist.

Added to this story is New York’s finest. During Fashion Week, the New York police department stand with a smile on their face. I captured these two wonderful officers while I was rushing into the shows. There are many other faces behind fashion week that keep things running smoothly, but I have to say the New York police department was front line everyday.

These are some of the attendees that kept Fashion Week just as exciting as all the beautiful women and collections.

For my male audience, I hope that these men give you courage to step away from your comfort zone, and explore a new side of yourself. Fashion is a place to explore different personalities, who knows, you might like what come out!

I must admit, ,my first two days at fashion week were rough, but I am back. Fashion Week is a long process. Each show is like Christmas, as each garment is a present gliding down the runway.

Fashion Week is not only about the tented runway shows, but also fashionistas that flow through Lincoln Centre promenade. However, a chill blanketed Fashion Week, as news, that a golden voice disappeared.

I picked each of these women because they signify a wonderful sprit about fashion. I felt their passion for style, which is displayed by the way they dress.  When you live with your heart and move towards your dreams, nothing is impossible.

What I love about fashion week is that people don’t come for trend, but personality, a dress is only a dress until someone breathes life into a garment.  That is what style conveys to the world–life.

With the passing of music mega star, Whitney Houston, we know life is short, so it should be lived with passion each day. All of these wonderful women remind me that fashion is a way to express your heart and emotion to the world, like Ms. Houston’s wonderful voice.

For me, the greatest pain is for Bobbi Christina, who must now deal with a loss of a mother. Today, as I was walking away from Lincoln Centre, I witnessed the most angelic moment. I was reminded by this girl how sweet and carefree fashion, and life, can be. I hope that Bobbi Christine will be able to regain a moment of innocence after so much tragedy.

NYFW is all about having a good time, and wonderment of the latest collections, however crowd watching is also fun. Today was no exception. A horribly styled NY housewife, Alex McCord, was front row at Venexiana by Kati Stern; bonus, collection was amazing. When we edit the runway footage and backstage interview you will see why this designer is the show!

Then, Falguni and Shane Peacock gave us front row drool,Paul Johnson Calderon from canceled television show,”High Society,” the party did not end there as RCA executive gave us an exclusive interview with his new dance artist. Look out for that up-coming story.

Off to back stage madness–Ashanti. Elbowing back stage is always happening for a designer interview, but throw in a celebrity, and things get wild. I couldn’t get close enough to interview the R&B diva, but I grabbed some shots.

Fashion Week begins, and the Big Apple is all abuzz with excitement of fresh faces, and  wonderful new friends. Packed lines are waiting to fill empty show spaces with anticipated guest. The RSVP’s are done, as guest roll in, one-by-one, to fill a fabulous location. Tonight was Designer Victor dE Souza–designer to the stars.

I had a chance to interview Victor dE Souza, he is a wonderful man and a spunky character.  He has dressed everyone from Sarah Jessica Parker, to Lady GAGA, and Rihanna. Check my blog in coming weeks for the exciting interview and backstage view of his Fall 2012 collection.

I, and fellow crowd watches gazed with glee at his wonderful creations tonight, most of all his fabulous muse—“Lady in Red.” Chris De Bugh’s soundtrack was in my head all night, as photographers snapped her photo from every angle.
